Sitting on top of a steep slope, the small village of Sund overlooks the valley of Martens, with a direct view of Martens’ Sorrow on the other side. The faint, distant rumble of the Whispercreek is broken by the moos and clucks coming from the nearby farmhouses, the lumberjack chopping wood, and by the chatter of the townsfolk gathering around a lone travelling merchant.

The houses here are made of stone and wood, with discolored terracotta tiles as roofs, and they are often overgrown with roots and ivies. Behind them, barely visible through the tall pine trees that surround the village, there’s an ominous, abandoned house, its roof and walls collapsed under fire and rain damage. The two Disciples of Ridgeburg guarding it appear to be the only institutional presence in the area.
